Science Oxford Workshops

The children thoroughly enjoyed their visit from Science Oxford where they had the opportunity to broaden their knowledge on a range of topics.

Years 5 and 6 entered the planetarium – an inflatable dome set up in the hall which enabled the children to watch an interactive film whilst feeling like they were on the moon.

One child said, ‘This is the best thing we’ve ever done at school.’

Snowy Owls and Barn Owls learnt about forces and rockets. Every child made their own ‘rocket mouse’ and had to predict which sized milk bottle would launch their mouse highest.

During the afternoon, Classes 3 and 4 were wowed by the magic of science. They saw a range of exciting activities; a particular highlight was watching water being poured into a nappy and learning that it could absorb up to 1 litre of water.

A huge thank you to the PTA for funding this wonderful experience day.
